From city to city and town to town, a number
of common issues have emerged as Missouri residents consider how
to
improve I-70. In this section you’ll find information about
six issues at the heart of many I-70 questions and concerns.
In the Interchanges
section, you’ll learn how access management measures, single
point urban interchanges and roundabouts can provide for safer
and more efficient travel on I-70.
The Construction
section focuses on one of the most important factors in the I-70
improvement strategy – keeping all existing lanes open while
new ones are being built. Here you’ll find graphics explaining
how the construction process will be staged.
In the section entitled Trucks,
you’ll find information about the current and projected volume
of truck traffic on I-70 and how it might be managed to improve
travel conditions.
On the Funding
page, you’ll learn about strategies for funding improvements
to I-70, including consideration of tolls.
The
Enhancements section explains MoDOT’s plan for ensuring
that major improvements to I-70 are “context-sensitive” and
result in a cohesive “look” across the state.
The Noise section explains how this important issue will be evaluated
during the Improve I-70 Studies and provides information about
sound walls.
