The Project

Improve I-70 consists of studies conducted along seven segments of the interstate.

Improve I-70 Second Tier studies included seven closely coordinated but independent studies. These seven studies analyzed the potential impacts of widening and reconstructing the interstate in seven distinct geographic areas. Breaking this phase of the improvement process into several smaller pieces allowed MoDOT to complete this stage more efficiently.

Each of the seven studies considered how to widen and reconstruct I-70 while balancing environmental concerns and community needs. The studies also determined the basic location for I-70 widening. To see the map, click on "Widening Locations" to the right.

The following table identifies the boundaries of each of the seven sections of the I-70 corridor. Click on a number to view a listing of the communities and interchanges in that section. Visit the Local Focus page for more information on studies for each corridor section.
